Oscillatory and vibratory plates
Have you heard of vibrating or oscillating plates?
The message which usually accompanies the fitness machines is “have fun while your muscles work” or “lose weight effortlessly” with oscillating plates.
But what is a vibrant and swinging plate or platform? What are the differences between the two?
Vibratory plates, as their name indicates, generate vibrations. With each vibration, the muscles of your body contract and relax depending on the speed of vibration. Therefore, by positioning them on a vibrating plate, you’ll work your muscles almost effortlessly. It’s the plate that will do all the work; you’ll hardly have to perform any fitness movements.
Meanwhile, the oscillating plate, the latest invention, causes oscillations, allowing the muscles to achieve more depth. It combines vibrations and oscillations. The work on the body is done in a more holistic manner. The oscillating plate has the same effect as the vibrating plate but it is more oriented towards weight loss.
The “work” on the plates must be of short duration; not more than 20 minutes, and one session per day is more than sufficient. Each exercise takes about 1 minute or 30 seconds. This may seem very short and even hard to believe, but you should know that the vibrations and oscillations solicit your muscles to work much faster and more intensely than at traditional fitness exercises.
Typically, a sitting of 15 minutes on the oscillating/vibrating plate equals to one hour of gym, and that too without apparent effort!
The benefits are numerous:
- They invigorate the body and reshape your silhouette.
- They act on the cellulite, which is “broken” and gradually disappears.
- They activate blood circulation and eliminate toxins.
- They increase muscle flexibility.
- They improve your overall balance.
- They stimulate your intestines.
- They keep you in shape.
- The oscillating plate can also help you to lose weight because it allows you to burn fat.
The benefits of these plates appear to be extraordinary. The plates can also be installed at places other gyms and are no longer only reserved for top athletes. More and more people are buying one, even if the price is rather prohibitive, especially when they want good equipment.
However, these benefits which sound “miraculous”, are not just advertising? It does not appear so. Indeed, after reading the forums on the subject, a majority of users seem to get very good results. After all, it depends on metabolism, frequency of use, exercises, etc.
But, see a doctor especially before trying it out. Indeed, the use of these oscillatory/vibratory plates can be inappropriate in certain cases:
- Post-operative (with implants) in an early stage.
- Repeated migraines, tumors.
- Implants of the hip or knee.
- Recent intervention resulting in an injury.
- Pregnancy.
- Acute tendonitis.
- People with Pacemakers or a cardiovascular disease.
- Intra-uterine devices (which have been recently placed).
- Severe osteoarthritis.
Thus, the oscillating or vibrating plates can improve the well-being and help in weight loss in a short time and with less effort. More importantly, go see a doctor before you start, so as to avoid problems!
